The story of Frenchman Francois Cevert is one ultimately of sadness and unfilled promise. Having been tragically killed at Watkins Glen in 1973, he was never able to take up the mantle of team leader at Tyrrell.

I think Cevert's appeal became more obvious recently when people started to realise the resemblance between he and current F1 driver Jerome D'Ambrosio. (Missed that F1 fitty post? Catch it here)

Of course these drivers have one thing in common.

The blue eyes.


With his dark hair, piercing eyes and fascinating background (Cevert was the son of a Parisian jeweller who joined the French resistance), Francois Cevert very much encapsulated the glamorous side of F1 in the 1970s.

Sadly we will never know how Cevert's career would of progressed, but he remains in the memory of F1 fans as a big talent who would surely have gone to accomplish great things in the sport.

My Dad is on fire and other misdemeanors.

So what occurred at the Hungary Grand Prix today.
A review of the most juicy bits in video.

Well firstly my Dad or OCN car was on fire. Then it decided for more dramatic emphasis to explode. Luckily everyone was OK.


Then Jerome D'Ambrosio nearly wipes out his pit crew with a drift not seen since my driving test.


But the most important thing we learnt today was that Jenson Button REALLY REALLY loves cake even more then racing and wow it's bracing.


Now remember kids. A four week Formula One lull is coming. So keep an eye out on Female Formula Fun for posts to keep you entertained.

And if the thought of four weeks without Formula One makes you sad.

F1 Fitty of the week.

This week's fitty of the week. I would normally of missed.

Mainly because they don't feature heavily in the F1 coverage, due to slightly languishing at the back of the grid.

But I accidentally caught his big blue eyes at the Turkish GP qualifying and WOW.

Aren't we missing a treat.

So lets put a back marker firmly at the fore front,

I introduce to you.

Jerome D'Ambrosio.

This Belgian also goes by the nickname of Custard at Virgin racing because of his Surname. (British people will get that pants reference)

Now Belgium may of only brought us chocolate and Jean Claude Van Damme.

But they can add this little beauty to the small but perfectly formed list.

So next time you watch Formula One. Don't forget to look at the back of the grid.
