Diary of an F1 weekend: Malaysia

Hey bloggers
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

So diary of an F1 weekend is back and this weekend has been unusual in that I am off for the entire weekend.
Handy for the early time schedule of Malaysia.

So lets start with Friday.
So with a 3am free practice one start.
My first issue of the day occurred.
I was out drinking with work mates and I didn't leave the club till 3am.

The same time as FP1 started but luckily that didn't matter because thanks to the F1 timing app on my smartphone I managed to keep up to date in the taxi until I strolled in at a unseemly time of 3.30am.
Before I took my make up off...The after picture was not worth seeing.

So I got free practice on, whilst I got into my Pj's and took my make up off.
Then in my wide awakeness I tweeted @5liveF1 to ask a question.
Now for the second time in three years. It got read out on air. Now even though David Croft pronounced my twitter name wrong (He made it sound way more posh then it really was) I will let him off because it made my day.

Here is the link from the the start of the question

Was a weird free practice, mainly due to the amount of brake/suspension failures that occurred, hopefully that won't happen in the race.

Free practice 2 was a different affair.
I managed to get up for it but lasted only 30 minutes before my hangover took over and sent me back to sleep. It really is a time zone failure for me.

2.30am Saturday
Just realised that FP3 is at 6am. Not 3am like first thought. Ooooops.

10.15am Saturday
Alarm clock decided to fail. Woke up five minutes after Qualifying had finished. This sadly will not be the first time this year that this occur.

2pm Saturday.
Finally got to watch all of qualifying. No rain again but Heidfeld actually proved why is is called OQN with a 6th place start.

10am Sunday
Today it is my nephew's christening. I should of been up at 8am, so I could get ready and watch the grand prix. Sadly alarm clock failed again but manage to get ready whilst seeing the grand prix from about lap 40.
So manage to see Petrov fly and the battle between old rivals in Hamilton and Alonso.
But the best thing about Malaysia was Heidfeld getting a podium.
This was better for me because on the Friday night I placed an each way bet on Heidfeld getting a podium. So I won just over a fiver. This may not be much but it will help me out now pay day is far away.

So I may of missed pretty much everything this weekend, but watching it again. That's no chore.

The church my nephew's christening was at. Pretty :)
