The Heidfeld missing screensaver. An update.

So exactly a year ago. I wrote this blog post about a missing screensaver in my life.
http://femaleformulafun.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/missing-screensaver-in-my-life.html

So a year has passed and this amazing photo still hasn't been found.

*Major sad face*

I thought that since things change in a year and by that I mean I have more readers of F.F.F and more followers on twitter. (You poor things)
I may be able to find someone who knows where this amazing photograph could be.

Don't get me wrong. I have still been looking.

The other day I ended up finding a picture that had been taken at the same photo shoot but is not the actual picture I have been searching high and low for.

Because we know from my lifelike art work, the photo looks like this.

I feel like I am getting closer to the best screensaver to EVER exist... In the world.

But I still need your help.

I need to know that I never imagined this.
So if you happen to find or even know where this picture may exist. Apart from seemingly in my imagination of course.

Then comment below or tweet me @squiffany.

Please spread the word.
I need this in my life...
And on my computer.

And the winner of most accident prone is...

So today we have all heard the news about Robert Kubica breaking his leg after slipping on ice near his home.
The worse part is that it was the same bone that broke in the rally crash last year.

So trying to look on the positives.
I think one of three things will happen.

One. Robert will never drive competitively in F1 again. I hope this is not the case.

Two. If/when Robert returns to F1. He will be like Senna/Prost/Schumacher and Vettel combined and be a super world champion.

Or if the other two don't work out I can only assume that Robert Kubica, will come back as Iron man and save the world from a TERRIBLE DOOM.

A TERRIBLE DOOM I TELL THEE.....

Top five F1 crashes.

Now this week is the anniversary of the first time I watched Formula One.
Now it's not a celebratory number like 20 or 30 years but I'm very proud to reach my 13th year of Formula One.

So to celebrate I am picking my top five F1 moments from the past 13 years.
This post is the top five crashes. I don't like crashes, there are not a nice part of Formula One but they happen and luckily everyone in these crashes were okay and so with that here are the top five memorable crashes.

Fernando Alonso: Brazil 2003
In the UK the Brazilian race is at prime time on Sunday night, so on this occasion I was watching with my family. Being a huge Alonso fan at the time. When Alonso crashed into Mark Webber's discarded tyre from a previous crash minutes before. I was in bits. I was shaking and crying. I had to be consoled by my mum because in my head I thought Alonso was really badly injured.

Mark Webber: European (Valencia) 2010

An eye watering crash, which shows how bad crashes can be if there is a dramatic speed difference between cars.
This didn't make me cry, but I pretty much yelped at this one.
Literally a few yards higher and this could of been a tragedy.

Sergio Perez: Monaco 2011

What made this crash all the more horrifying for me was the moment that Sergio put his hand against his head, bracing himself for the Monaco impact.
Then that white sheet came out.
Sickening moment.
I hope that next year something is done about the Monaco bump.

Robert Kubica: Canada 2007

I remember this crash more vividly then others.
On this day me and my family were round my sisters house to celebrate my Niece's 3rd Birthday.
The F1 got turned on the TV by all the men at the party and me.
Then we saw Kubica's huge crash.
It was the first time for me that a huge crash made me think I had seen an F1 death.
It was that bad I didn't just cry at my sisters.
I went home and cried too.

Even now I struggle to watch.

Most of the field: Spa 1998

Rain + a mistake = Chaos.

Eleven cars were taken out in one fell swoop with what has to be the most cars crashed in F1 history.
It was extremely lucky that the cars hadn't quite got up to racing speeds and that everyone got out uninjured.

Now there have been plenty of F1 accidents and crashes but those five are the ones that stick the most in my mind.
Lets hope the next thirteen years F1 safety keeps on improving and we have another thirteen years of no fatalities in F1.

The missing screensaver in my life

So Female Formula Fun readers.
I need your help.

A few weeks ago. I lost all my files on my computer due to a lovely virus. (Caused by a link related to HRT no less)

So since then I have had no screen saver picture. This is not a huge problem I know but I now know which picture should be on this small piece of space.

This however is where the problem lies.

I can't find it or a link to it even.

This F1 picture did the rounds on twitter a few months ago but since then my cries to find it have not been heard.

The picture is of Nick Heidfeld (OQN) and Robert Kubica from the the BMW Sauber days. Doing some promotional work sitting at a table with a spread of food (I think in some European country) and OQN is holding the most tiniest flag I have ever seen.

This might not sound like a photograph of epic proportions but it made me laugh a lot and it is just the cheery picture that my laptop needs.

I also attempted a picture just for you.
(Yes I'm 23 and I draw like my 4 year old niece. Art wasn't my strong point. Sadly)

So if you can help me. With a link or the picture. Then I would be eternally grateful.
Then you can either comment below or follow me on twitter @squiffany.

Would Kubica have been better?

So after last weekend's race.
Several comments were being mentioned time and time again.

Would Kubica of done a better job then Petrov?
If Kubica was here?
How much Kubica feel seeing Petrov do so well?
Etc etc...

Now most F1 fans know that in the 2010 season Kubica was amazing, picking up podium positions, whilst Petrov was languishing in mid-field trying to pretty much keep on the road.
Petrov wasn't that great.
From the mid season the rumour mill kept banding about that Petrov was going to be replaced.

This didn't happen.
It was to be Petrov and Kubica at Renault for 2011.
Robert Kubica Robert Kubica (L) of Poland and Vitaly Petrov (R) of Russia attend the unveiling of the new Lotus Renault GP R31 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit on January 31, 2011 in Valencia, Spain.

Then in the first week of February, Kubica went rallying in the off season.
Something he has been doing for years.

When he crashed badly and had to be cut out of the car.
Kubica sustained injuries to his hand, arm and leg.
His right hand suffered the most damage, being partially severed.

So after days in intensive care and countless surgeries.
Kubica's doctor said he could be out of F1 for up to a year.

Then that meant a huge decision for Renault.
Who would take the lead seat?

After having loads of reserve drivers testing for the seat including Senna, Grosjean and Fauzy.
Renault decided to go for a driver who had lots of experience.
My favourite Occasionally Quick Nick
Or Nick Heidfeld to everyone else.

Now with Nick leading the team and his vast experience surely it would only be a matter of time before Petrov would probably be replaced, then the first race in Australia happened.

And Petrov shone.

Not because Heidfeld was poor in Australia, not because Kubica wasn't there.
But because Petrov had matured over the winter.

People forget that it was Petrov's rookie season last year.
It always takes time to familiarize yourself with tracks and with the machinery.

So when Petrov had an amazing race.
I struggled to comprehend when pundits and members of the F1 community were talking to and about Petrov, about how if Kubica was in the Renault how everything would be different.
It was just all about Kubica.
Now it's true it could of been different but it's all what if's.
You can't lead a life on what ifs especially in F1

Now I know that me, F1 fans and the team are going to miss Robert.
He is a great driver and if he returns to F1. I can say with all honesty I can see him with a world championship in a few years.

But it was Petrov's day.
Petrov's race.

Why take that away from him?

Hopefully he will keep on proving everyone wrong and people will be mention Vitaly Petrov more.
